New University of Washington coach Lindsay Meggs says the school needs to upgrade facilities to be competitive — a common refrain in the college ranks these days.
We are on the verge of a full-blown arms war on the college facilities front: teams with new and improved facilities, like Oregon's PK Park, have the potential to outdraw and outrecruit programs like UW, playing in the relatively new but bareboned Husky Ballpark. Meggs comes into the job after experiencing success at Indiana State (where, ironically, the school is updating its ballpark), and Meggs is already tapping into the UW donor base for improvements.
