We have a name and branding for one of the two summer-collegiate Northwoods League expansion teams beginning play in 2017: the Bismarck Larks.
“The fan response has been overwhelming and we’re so happy to have a team name that truly represents the opinion of the community we serve,” said John Bollinger, the team’s general manager. “It’s the state bird, we’re in the state capital, it just makes sense. Our fan feedback tonight was great and fans will really enjoy how we integrate the Larks theme at the ballpark.”
Larks was the top vote getter in the team’s name contest held earlier this summer.
Erik Moe, a Bismarck local, was named the winner of the team’s #NameYourTeam contest and won season tickets for life, a team jersey, hat, and will be throwing out the first pitch on Opening Day.
In other Larks news, Sean Repay was announced as head coach for the Larks inaugural season. Repay has experience as a pro manager coach, including a gigs in the independent Pecos League and American Association.
