Foley Field renovation plan approved

University of GeorgiaA $10-million renovation of Foley Field at the University of Georgia has been approved by Athletic Association board of directors, after fundraising hit the halfway point.

Construction will begin after the end of the 2014 Bulldogs season.

It’s an arms race when it comes to facilities in the SEC — the best NCAA baseball conference these days — and Foley Field, last renovated in 1990, could certainly use some TLC. Collins Cooper Carusi Architects, Populous and Turner Construction are working on a renovation plan, which would include both bringing the fan facilities up to ADA code and upgrade workout facilities for athletes.
