New Franklin Ballpark Still Under Study

Ballpark Commons

While it sounds like the proposed Franklin (WI) ballpark could be the centerpiece of a great entertainment district, the city’s Common Council still needs to complete review of the Ballpark Commons development plan.

While there’s no imminent deadline to approve the suburban Milwaukee development, it sounds like Mike Zimmerman and ROC Ventures are eager to get going on the Ballpark Commons development plan. And serious work can’t get underway until the development plan is approved. From the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:

City Engineer Glen Morrow said the Ballpark Commons development plan is about 180 pages with a lot of “extra stuff” and “unique features” compared to most developments.

Ballpark Commons, planned off 76th Street and Rawson Avenue, includes an outdoor baseball stadium, indoor sports complex, year-round golf, and a plaza area, which includes shopping, food, and office space.

“This isn’t your typical subdivision review,” Morrow said. “It’s good some experts are looking at it.”
