The Salem Red Sox (High Class A; Carolina League) unveiled new jerseys for the 2015 season at a LewisGale Field event, with eight different jerseys slated for use at home games, away games and for special events.
“We felt it was time to freshen up the look,” said Ryan Shelton, Salem Red Sox General Manager. “The new uniforms are crisp and clean. While our previous jerseys hinted to our parent club in Boston, these are meant to really seal the connection between Salem and the Red Sox.”
Keeping with tradition in Minor League Baseball, the Salem Sox also revealed the designs of four specialty jerseys to be worn on the respective theme nights. The specialty jerseys feature a Back to the Future jersey, a “Pink in the Park” jersey, a throwback Avalanche jersey and a Military themed jersey. The “Pink” jerseys, to be worn Mother’s Day weekend, will be auctioned to benefit Susan G. Komen Virginia Blue Ridge. The Military jerseys, presented by the American Red Cross will be on display every Friday; Fridays at LewisGale field are being dubbed Freedom Fridays sponsored by Freedom First Credit Union.
