Eben Yager adds another title to the resume: He’s now president of the Pittsfield Suns (summer collegiate; Futures Collegiate Baseball League), and will continue his duties as GM of the Hudson Valley Renegades (short season A; NY-Penn League) for the Goldklang Group.
“I’m thrilled for the opportunity to bring my 16 years of experience in baseball to Pittsfield as we look to continue to grow our presence and impact the community,” said Yager. “I look forward to playing my part in leading and supporting our incredibly talented staff.”
Yager will assume the title of president, effective immediately. Kevin McGuire, who is entering his fourth season with the Suns, will add the title of vice president to his current duties as the general manager.
“Having started my professional career working for Eben, I am thrilled to jump back in the trenches with him,” said McGuire. “His attention to detail and creative skills will help elevate the Suns to the next level. It’s certainly a bright day for the Suns.”
Suns owner Jeff Goldklang echoed those sentiments. “Eben is a tremendous addition to the Pittsfield baseball community. His track record of success in building community ties will only serve to enhance what Kevin and his staff have accomplished over the past few years.”
Yager began his tenure with the Goldklang Group as the assistant general manager for the St. Paul Saints (2003-2007). Since joining Hudson Valley Renegades in 2008, Yager’s advanced knowledge within the baseball industry has helped the organization reach new heights and obtain national recognition in multiple areas, including franchise stability, game day promotions, attendance and contributions to the Hudson Valley community and baseball industry.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Yager holds a B.A. in Sports Administration and Psychology from Central Michigan University.
