The Montgomery Biscuits will host the 2015 Southern League All-Star Game at Riverwalk Stadium on Tuesday, June 23.
This will mark the second time the Biscuits have hosted the All-Star Game, with Riverwalk Stadium being the site of the 2006 contest. It will be held in conjunction with the city of Montgomery and the Southern League, that Montgomery
The All-Star Festivities will begin on Monday, June 22 in downtown Montgomery with the actual game taking place the following night on Tuesday at Riverwalk Stadium. A full schedule of events will be released in the coming months by the Biscuits organization.Ticket information will also be made available once the 2014 season concludes, but the Biscuits did announce that fans who purchase 2015 season tickets will have special priority privileges.
“The City works closely with the Biscuits ownership to meet the entertainment needs of families across the River Region as well as visitors. This event will be sure to showcase all that the Capital of Dreams has to offer,” Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange said.
The Southern League has produced a number of future Major League stars, including Miguel Cabrera, Joey Votto, Paul Goldschmidt, Clayton Kershaw, Evan Longoria, and many more. 27 players on the 2014 Major League All-Star Roster played in the Southern League at one point in their careers.
“We’re excited to showcase how much Montgomery has grown since we last had the game in 2006,” said Biscuits General Manager Scott Trible. “After the successes of Biscuits baseball, the MAX Capital City Classic series and Rays at Riverwalk exhibition game, we hope to continue to draw fans from all over the southeast to experience great baseball games at beautiful Riverwalk Stadium.”
