A study could determine whether the Bears stay in their present home or plan for a new one.The Yakima Bears (short season; Northwest League) are applying for a $40,000 grant to study whether the team should stay in its present home or plan for a new one.
"Maybe it’s a major renovation to the Yakima County Stadium, maybe it’s a new stadium on the fairgrounds, maybe it’s a new stadium somewhere else, we just don’t quite know yet," Bears general manager K.L. Wombacher told KAPP-TV. "That’s the reason for this market study."
Yakima County Stadium isn’t that old: it opened in 1993 and seats 3,000 or so.
