Lame-duck campaigns pose a huge challenge for MiLB teams, but the Mobile BayBears (Class AA; Southern League) are taking on the 2019 season.
Instead of scrimping on costs, the BayBears are adding more fireworks night, a variety of new giveaways, an enhanced game experience, new food and drink options, and affordability.
“The great people of Mobile deserve an opportunity to experience a final season worth remembering,” said BallCorps Managing Partner and CEO Ralph Nelson in a press statement. “The game itself is never the main reason people attend Minor League Baseball. It is the affordable family fun, the memories that are made across generations; it is the crazy fun and fireworks. We are making a promise to the community and fans of Mobile that when you attend a game in the coming season you will have more fun at our ballpark than ever before. We can’t wait to see you at the Hank.”
To commemorate the final season the BayBears are unveiling a new logo (above) that will be featured throughout the campaign and on a new line of merchandise that will be available online and in the team gift shop.
According to the team, the 2019 promotional schedule includes five bobblehead nights and partial plan packages that guarantee a bobblehead to partial and season ticket holders in attendance. These fans no longer have to be the first people in the ballpark to ensure they leave with a memento from the game.
“We are very excited about the prospects of the Farewell Season,” said new General Manager Ken Clary. “Ownership has given us the resources to allow us to do more giveaways, more fireworks, and more entertainment. Our goal is to create new memories, one game at a time. We are going to celebrate our rich history and remember the great moments, the great players, and the great teams that our fans have adored watching.”
