We have personnel news to report from the Stockton Ports (High A; California League), Jackson Generals (Class AA; Southern League), and Visalia Rawhide (High A; California League).
In Stockton, the Ports have announced that Justice Hoyt has been promoted to Assistant General Manager where he will assist in day-to-day managerial duties as well as oversee the team’s ticket department.
“Justice is deserving of this promotion, and we appreciate his hard work and focus on our patrons and partners,” said President Pat Filippone. “It is always a pleasure to promote from within and I look forward to working with Justice for many more years in the future.”
Hoyt, who has been with the Ports for four full seasons, began as the Group Sales Account Executive, making his way up through the organization where he most recently served as the team’s Director of Business Development before the promotion to Assistant General Manager.
“It’s been great to be able to really start my career here and have the opportunity to grow and move up within the organization,” said Justice Hoyt. “A special thank you to Pat Filippone (Ports President), Taylor McCarthy (Ports General Manager), and everyone else who has contributed to my success here along the way.”
Prior to joining the Ports organization, Hoyt earned a degree in Sport Management from Saint John Fisher College in Rochester, NY., and spent time with the Rochester Redwings (Class AAA; International League) and Newark Pilots of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL).

In Jackson, the Generals have announced the following promotions:
Marcus Sabata has been promoted to Assistant General Manager. Marcus just completed his first season with the Generals. Marcus grew up in Southwest Kansas where he graduated Garden City High School and majored in Political Science at Garden City Community College. Marcus has been around baseball for 42 years as a coach and as an executive. Prior to moving to Jackson, Marcus served as the General Manager of the Garden City Wind (independent; Pecos League).
Tory Goodman has been promoted to Sales Manager. Tory has spent the last 3 seasons with the Generals as the Box Office/Merchandise Manager. The Decatur, IL native graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Robert Morris University.
Ian Ueltschi has joined the Jackson Generals as Manager of Ticket Operations/Sales Executive. Ian spent the 2018 season with the Florida Fire Frogs (High A; Florida State League). The Frankfort, KY native attended Morehead State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management.
“We have a great executive team here and these moves and additions just help make us even stronger,” said Generals President & General Manager Jason Compton. “I can’t wait to see what these guys will accomplish as we head into 2019 and beyond,” he added.

In Visalia, the Rawhide have announced four additions to its front office staff: Markus Hagglund will take over as the team’s new Director of Groups and Ticketing, Jake Davis is the team’s Merchandise Manager, Joe Ross is the new Community Partnerships coordinator, and Brady Hochhalter is promoted from Ballpark Operations intern to Ballpark Operations Assistant. Returning to the front office after a short time away is Assistant GM, Charlie Saponara.
Markus Hagglund – Markus is thrilled to join the Rawhide for the 2019 season following previous stops with the Stockton Ports, the Hickory Crawdads (Low A; Sally League), the Portland Sea Dogs (Class AA; Eastern League), and the Quad Cities River Bandits (Low A; Midwest League). Prior to his work in MiLB, Markus was involved with the University of Iowa Athletics Department focusing on ticketing and NCAA compliance.
Jake Davis – Jake attended Metropolitan State University of Denver majoring in Sport Management & Political Science. He comes to Visalia after spending one year as the Merchandise Assistant with the Tulsa Drillers (Class AA; Texas League).
Joe Ross – Joe is a Tulare County local who was born and raised in Lindsay. He graduated from Lindsay High School in 2004 and has spent time living in Southern California & the Bay Area. He comes to the Visalia Rawhide with a background in Real Estate, sales, marketing, and event planning.
Brady Hochhalter – Graduated from Bethesda University in June of 2018 with a bachelor’s in Sports Management and joined the Rawhide as a Ballpark Operations Intern shortly thereafter.
