The Daytona Tortugas (High A; Florida State League) are introducing Shell’s Kitchen, a new food truck that will feature the team’s branding.
Shell’s Kitchen will carry the Daytona Tortugas brand, and introduce new gourmet ballpark food, to all of Central Florida. Baseball and good food have been synonymous for years, and Shell’s Kitchen is the next step in continuing to enhance the fan experience, not only in Jackie Robinson Ballpark, but in Volusia, Flagler, and surrounding counties.
Last June, the Tortugas introduced new Food & Beverage Director, Scot Masters, who has over 30 years of experience in the culinary industry. Masters has brought an experienced approach to elevate not only the food offerings inside Jackie Robinson Ballpark for 2018, but now to build that experience outside of the ballpark, 365 days a year. Coming in 2018, fans will see brand new menu options and upgraded food at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
Shell’s Kitchen, similar to the approach that the Daytona Tortugas have taken in the community, will be at hundreds of events annually. Shell’s Kitchen is available for any and all events—both public and private.
“This is another step to increase the Tortugas presence and experience,” Said Ryan Keur, team President. “Based on feedback that we’ve received, we felt like adding Scot to our staff and investing in our food offerings, including Shell’s Kitchen, was a much needed improvement as we head into the 2018 season.”
Today’s announcement is an exciting journey for Shell’s Kitchen, which will serve local business leaders on Wednesday afternoon for a Chamber luncheon at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. With Jackie Robinson Ballpark becoming a year-round facility, so, too, will the food offers, with Tuga Nation now being able to enjoy all of the great ballpark tastes year-round.
“In reality, the Tortugas are the largest bar in town and the largest restaurant in town – one that serves thousands of guests each night. Now, we can elevate that experience beyond the brick and mortar,” Said Masters.
