Baseball hasn’t exactly been a smash in Reno for a long time. but the Reno Aces (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) are hoping to change that with a new ballpark and a new attitude.
It will be an interesting experience for all involved. SK Baseball is a new entity with no experience running a baseball team. Reno has been home to various independent teams in recent years, but none have set the world on fire. And downtown Reno is a transitional area, one that could use some improving.
The team’s new ballpark opens Friday, and we can expect a huge crowd then. The numbers worth watching will be in three or so weeks.
