2019 Preview: Los Angeles Dodgers, Dodger Stadium

Dodgers Going Yard

Ballpark Digest is previewing what every MLB team is doing to begin the season, both on and off the field, as the 2019 campaign is around the corner. Up next: the Los Angeles Dodgers and Dodger Stadium.

With a new season on the way, the Dodgers and hospitality partner Levy have reworked the menu at Dodger Stadium. That effort has resulted in several new food options joining the ballpark’s slate this year, as well as some past postseason options making their way onto the regular-season menu.

During the 2019 season, fans will be able to purchase Going Yard (above)–a 16.5-inch jalapeno cheddar sausage topped with grilled onions, roasted corn, and avocado relish, drizzled with sour cream. Previously available during the postseason, Going Yard will be served during the 2019 campaign at sections Field 10, Loge 133 and Reserve 4.

Another previous postseason option that will be available during the regular season is the Esquite. This dish is served with sweet grilled corn in a mini souvenir Dodgers helmet topped with mayo, cotija, and chipotle aioli and finished with lime juice and Tajin seasoning. It will be available in sections Field 22, 23 and Top Deck 6.

The Dodgers are also introducing the Dodger Sausage. Dodger Sausage features a ballpark exclusive al pastor seasoned sausage stuffed with pineapple chunks, grilled and topped with pineapple salsa and cilantro-lime crema. This item will be served at several locations, including sections Field 10, Loge 133, and Reserve 4.

Burrito bowls are also joining the Dodger Stadium menu, with fans receiving the choice of tempeh or chicken on a bed of rice topped with black beans and pico de gallo. The dish will be served with a souvenir base bowl, and can be found in Loge 137 and Reserve sections 23 and 24.

Along with those items, fans will also find a few other new food options around Dodger Stadium. This season will see the introduction of California Roll Bowls, which come with imitation crab, sriracha aioli, edamama, carrots, and cucumbers over a bed of sushi rice. A plant-based burger called the Beyond Meat Burger will be topped with herb mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions, served on a brioche bun. Taco plates have also joined the mix of food available at Dodger Stadium, and a new summer green salad will feature chopped romaine with baby spinach, dried cucumbers, sliced radishes, feta crumble, with a choice either pecans or walnuts, topped with a creamy mint dressing.

One other aspect of the 2019 season to note concerns the Dodgers uniforms. All season long, the Dodgers will wear a commemorative uniform number “36” patch to pay tribute to franchise great Don Newcombe, who passed away in February at the age of 92. In addition to the uniform patch, the Dodgers will pay tribute to Newcombe with an April 27 induction into the Legends of Dodger Baseball and give away a commemorative bobblehead. Newcombe pitched eight of his 10 major league seasons with the Brooklyn-Los Angeles Dodgers, including his Cy Young Award and MVP-winning 1956 campaign.
