2019 Preview: Baltimore Orioles, Oriole Park at Camden Yards

Old Bay Elote Oriole Park at Camden Yards

Ballpark Digest is previewing what every MLB team is doing to begin the season, both on and off the field, as the 2019 season is underway. Up next: the Baltimore Orioles and Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards will feature new food offerings this year, with the Orioles focusing on several areas of the ballpark. A revamped Eutaw Street is part of that mix, along with additions to the food menu at various concession stands.

Fans walking along Camden Yards’ signature B&O Warehouse will notice a different look and feel on Eutaw Street this year, which now features festoon lighting and expanded concessions and retail offerings. Boog’s BBQ has been expanded and redesigned to add a branded 1950 Chevy truck, a lighted 30-foot sign, and an outdoor smoker. Boog’s BBQ will part of the Boog’s Neighborhood concept that is being introduced this season, along with Boog’s General Store in the Warehouse. The new store will offer a mix that includes Boog’s-branded, lifestyle merchandise as well as general concessions items.

Elsewhere on Eutaw Street, fans will find a new vintage airstream mobile bar named Bar 478–a reference to the fact that it is parked 478 feet from home plate. In addition, locally-owned Harris Creek Oyster & Seafood will join with Lobster Hut to offer a seafood stand that includes offerings such as oysters shucked on the half shell, a fried catfish sandwich, and oyster po’ boys.

Concessions around Camden Yards will mixed up with new food items this season. Among the new fare is the Old Bay Elote (above), an offering available at Corona Street Taco near Section 70. Old Bay Elote consists of Mexican Street Corn, topped with traditional garlic mayo, queso fresco, chopped cilantro, and sour cream, but with Old Bay added in for a local twist.

Pigtown Stack will be served up near Section 68, featuring a BBQ pork patty, topped sweet mustard slaw, tobacco onions, pickle, and served on a brioche long roll. All Charm City Chicken Shack locations will offer a Sweet Heat Chicken Sandwich, topping chicken with a mix that includes hot honey sauce and pickle on a brioche Roll. For a healthier offering, the Orioles will offer Acai Bowls both at the new Boog’s General Store and at Birdland Markets around Camden Yards. The bowls consist of dried fruits, nuts, seeds, bananas, berries, coconut, currants, and goji berries.

The 2019 season will see an expanded presence at Camden Yards for Roseda Black Angus Farms, based north of Baltimore in Monkton. It will serve its gourmet burgers at two Roseda Farms stands and two Club Grille locations. Baseline Burger locations around the ballpark will feature burgers from the Baltimore-based Old Line Custom Meats, providing fresh ground beef sourced from local farms in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

In a big shakeup to the ballpark’s offerings, Esskay hot dogs are no longer on the menu at Camden Yards after their production was discontinued by brand owner Smithfield Foods. Esskay will be replaced as the official hot dog of Oriole Park with a Maryland offering, as Hagerstown-based Hoffman’s Meats is teaming up with the Orioles to introduce the Camden Frank. The Camden Classic Frank and Camden Jumbo Frank will debut throughout the ballpark on April 19.
