With the first 20 seasons in the bank, the Somerset Patriots (independent; Atlantic League) unveiled plans for TD Bank Ballpark designed to set the tone for the next 20 years, with a Ferris wheel and new group and entertainment spaces on tap.
The plans were announced today at an event marking those first 20 years. From the Bridgewater Courier News:
But Kalafer and his two sons, Jonathan and Joshua, who serve as co-chairmen, have plans to upgrade the stadium, including erecting a Ferris wheel at the entry plaza.
The conceptual plans also call for a new fun zone and individual/group area with concessions where the lawn seating section is now in right field; a redesigned picnic patio in left field and The Handlebar, a redesign of an area where fans can enjoy an upgraded bar experience at the game.
“It’s going to be more beautiful in the future,” Joshua Kalafer said.
The Patriots have had a great run at TD Bank Ballpark; fans should enjoy the next 20.
