We have a new radio deal for the Chattanooga Lookouts (Class AA; Southern League), as the team has announced a contract with iHeartMedia’s 96.1 The Legend.
As part of the agreement, 96.1 The Legend will broadcast all 140 Lookouts’ games. In addition, the games will be available through iHeartMedia’s nationwide streaming platform.
“We are extremely pleased to have been selected the broadcast choice for one of Chattanooga’s most notable brands – The Chattanooga Lookouts,” said iHeartMedia Market President Becky Sweeney.
“We are thrilled to be able to partner with iHeartMedia for the upcoming 2016 season,” said Lookouts Team President Rich Mozingo. “96.1 the Legend is a great radio station and is a perfect match for Lookouts baseball.”
Fans will hear a familiar voice on the call, with broadcaster Larry Ward set to return for his 28th season with the Lookouts. Ward is the longest-tenured radio announcer in the Southern League, and is a part of the league’s Hall of Fame class of 2016. He was also enshrined into the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame back in 2005.
