Gate 2 is one of the few parts of the original Yankee Stadium that wasn't completely torn down, according to the Save the Yankee Gate 2 (savetheyankeegate2.com) preservation group. They want to see the gate area preserved as a entrance for Heritage Park, slated to be built when the old Yankee Stadium is torn down.

Their new argument: it would be cheaper to save the gate than tear it down.
