Stan Meradith and Gary Gillette are the new co-chairs of the Ballparks Committee of the Society for American Baseball Research.
Both names should be familiar to those in the ballpark world. Meradith is a principal with the DLR Group; his projects include Steinbrenner Field and the new Omaha Royals (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) ballpark. Gillette was a passionate organizer for the preservation of Tiger Stadium.
They replace Bob Bluthardt, who chaired the committee for 25 years.
