Additional renderings of a new Fayetteville ballpark have been released, showing a preliminary look at the future High-A Carolina League facility.
As was noted earlier this week, the city is currently working with Populous on pulling the pieces together on the facility’s design. Officials are modeling the $33 million project–which will host a Houston Astros-owned franchise–after Spirit Communications Park, home of the Columbia Fireflies (Low A; Sally League). While the ballpark in Fayetteville will be a scaled-down version of the facility, it will feature some of the same amenities that are included at the Columbia ballpark.
Many of the details could change between now and the facility’s slated opening in 2019, but for now it includes a 360-degree concourse, a kids area and other amenities. More from WNCN:
Officials on Wednesday released the latest renderings for the proposed stadium.
The stadium will hold just over 4,900 people and include six luxury suites and a party deck.
Plans call for 18 different concession stands around the park and a 10,000 square-foot kids zone.
WNCN also has uploaded a document that includes several renderings and concepts for the ballpark site. Previous estimates have called for construction on the ballpark to begin this summer, with the franchise– which play the 2017 and 2018 seasons as the Buies Creek Astros–to move into the facility for Opening Day 2019.
