The Rockford RiverHawks (independent; Northern League) have promoted Brad Sholes from within as GM of the franchise, as he replaced longtime GM Josh Olerud.
“I’m both thankful and excited for the opportunity that I have with the RiverHawks,” Sholes said. “I look forward to working with the staff to continue our success.”
Sholes had been director of tickets and finance since September 2006. Like his predecessor, Sholes started with the organization as an intern. He was retained at the end of that season.
Olerud, who had been the GM since January 2006, took the same role with the Potomac Nationals (High Class A; Carolina League).
Sholes has also worked with the 2005 NFL Quarterback Challenge and the 2005 PGA Tour’s Ford Championship. He is a native of Owen, Wis., and a 2004 graduate of Ripon College, in Ripon, Wis., where he earned degrees in both economics and business administration. Sholes also holds a master’s degree in sport management from Barry University in Miami Shore, Fla.
