New for 2011: Werner Park

Werner ParkThe new Sarpy County home of the Omaha Royals (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) has a name: Werner Park, as the local shipping firm pays to put its name on the ballpark.

“For the past four years Werner Enterprises has played a large part in sponsoring the Omaha Royals,” said Derek Leathers, Chief Operating Officer of Werner Enterprises and President of Werner Global Logistics. “We are pleased with the positive results and wish to continue that tradition. So much so, that we are stepping it up and offering a long-term commitment as the Naming Rights Partner of their new facility, Werner Park.”

“The team’s partnership with Werner Enterprises has been outstanding,” said Martie Cordaro, Vice President and General Manager of the Omaha Royals. “It began four years ago when they became our presenting partner and today we are launching a new era in Omaha’s Triple-A Baseball history. Welcome to Werner Park.”

Terms of the deal: $1.525 million ($305,000 annually) for five years, with an option for a five-year renewal.
