A Goat Yoga bobblehead and a Steamed Cheeseburgers night are coming to Dunkin’ Donuts Park, as they highlight the Hartford Yard Goats‘ (Class AA; Eastern League) 2018 promotional slate.
The Yard Goats announced their 2018 promotional lineup on Wednesday. While the broad slate features several unique offerings, two that stand out are the Goat Yoga bobblehead and team’s plan to call itself the Hartford Steamed Cheeseburgers for one night.
During select days over the offseason, the Yard Goats have offered Goat Yoga at Dunkin’ Donuts Park. The bobblehead giveaway, scheduled for June 13, will build on that idea. As part of Wednesday’s announcement of the promotional schedule, the Yard Goats unveiled the design of the Goat Yoga bobblehead.

Meanwhile, as part of a separate promotion, the Yard Goats are making plans to play their August 12 game as the Steamed Cheeseburgers. The promotion will include specially designed jerseys and hats that the team will wear for that evening’s game.

According to the Yard Goats, the promotion pays tribute to a cuisine that is believed to have origins in Connecticut. Ted’s Restaurant, which has served steamed cheeseburgers since 1959, will be at the ballpark that night and will make their steamed cheeseburgers available for purchase.
Along with these promotions, there will be a few others to watch. Whalers Alumni Weekend–a tribute to the city’s former NHL franchise–will take place from July 27-29, with the Yard Goats taking the field in jerseys inspired by the Whalers’ uniform design. There is also a What If Night on tap, as the Yard Goats will play as Hartford Whirly Birds, one of the finalists in their original name-the-team-contest, on June 28.
The announcement of the promotions schedule is not the only news out of Dunkin’ Donuts Park, as the Yard Goats have also announced plans for extended netting. Set to be installed by Opening Day, the extended netting will run to at least the far ends of both dugouts.
