The Augusta GreenJackets (Low A; Sally League) have sold out the suites for their forthcoming ballpark, giving the team a major boost before the facility opens.
Currently scheduled to open for the 2018 season, the new ballpark in North Augusta, SC appears to be highly anticipated. Last Friday, GreenJackets president and partner Jeff Eiseman revealed that the team has already sold out its inventory of suites.
Having achieved that milestone, the GreenJackets will now look to continuing building momentum on the sales side as the ballpark’s opening draws closer. More from The Star:
“We have over-commitments on our suite sales,” Eiseman said.
The news is noteworthy because it provides an early forecast of ticket sales. Season suite prices for 2018 ranged from $25,000 to $35,000, Eiseman added.
Tom Denlinger, general manager for the team, said there are nine suites.
The stadium will seat more than 4,000 fans, with individual ticket pricing as low as $6 to $17. Club seating for the season would start at about $1,000 a season.
There have been some significant developments for the ballpark project of late, including the GreenJackets’ recent announcement of a groundbreaking ceremony. That event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, and officials have already indicated that opening the ballpark in time for the 2018 season remains a priority. The ballpark will be a part of Riverside Village at Hammond’s Ferry, a surrounding development that will include housing, lodging, conference space, offices, retail, and more. Work on the new ballpark began earlier this year.
