We have a name and logo for the team launching next season in the independent American West Baseball League: the Long Beach Splash.
“I am very pleased with the outcome of the logo it has been done with class, shows professionalism and immediately lets the public know who the team is,” said Michael Cummings, AWBL Chief Executive Officer.
The next steps for team owner DC Sports and Entertainment: signing a lease for a ballpark (presumably Blair Field, the longtime home to baseball in Long Beach and a historic structure on its own) and finding a manager.
So far there are five commitments for teams in the 2013 AWBL inaugural season: Fullerton, Yuma, Long Beach, San Diego and Mesa.
