Intimidators embrace Earnhardt legacy with #3 replica car at ballpark

A replica of Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s #3 race car will be permanently displayed at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.

It's appropriate that on April 29th, the birthday of Dale Earnhardt Sr., the Kannapolis Intimidators (Low Class A; Sally League) with son Kerry Earnhardt in attendance unveiled a special #3 Dale Earnhardt Sr. tribute race car, which will remain on display at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium on a permanent basis.

"This is an exciting addition to Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium, in the town Dale called home," Intimidators general manager Randy Long said. "We encourage fans to come out and see the car, take pictures, look in the window, touch the hallowed number three and tell their own Dale stories."

The car has the number three on the sides as well as the top and it has the Intimidators logo on the front of the car. Dale Earnhardt will be among the first five inductees into the NASCAR Hall of Fame which will open its doors for the first time on May 11 in Charlotte, N.C.
