Each year the Gateway Grizzlies unveil a new concession item designed to test the limits of taste and caloric intake. For 2010, it's a The Gateway Grizzlies announced the newest addition to their concession line at GCS Ballpark, “The Beast.”
The Beast features five pounds of Holten Meat Black Angus ground chuck marinated in Andria’s steak sauce topped with bacon and pepper jack cheese and placed between a McArthur’s Bakery Hamburger Roll. Additional toppings are available including fresh produce from Eckert’s Farm and horseradish mayo from Keller Farms.
“Great food comes from great ingredients,” said Grizzlies General Manager Steve Gomric. “We took the best ingredients in the St. Louis area and put them into this burger.”
The Beast will be available for purchase through the Grizzlies catering department or fans can elect to purchase 1/15 of The Beast at the Great Grizzlie Grill.
The Beast continues a Grizzlies tradition that began in 2004 when Baseball’s Best Hotdog hit GCS Ballpark. It consisted of a 1/5 pound Farmland 8 inch All Beef Black Angus Hot Dog, topped with two strips of freshly cooked bacon, 1 oz. Sautéed Onions, 1 oz. Sautéed Sauerkraut and ∏ oz. Cheddar Cheese Sauce, all on a fresh baked bun.
