The restoration of Clemons Field, the WPA-era home of the Hannibal Cavemen (summer collegiate; Prospect League) will reach another milestone next week when the new lights are turned on for the first time.
The ceremony is slated for 5 p.m. Besides the lights, fans can tour the renovation clubhouses and grandstand.
The restoration of the ballpark has been a labor of love for Larry Owens and his all-star crew; we’re excited to see what they’ve accomplished. (A disclaimer: Publisher Kevin Reichard is part of the team’s advisory board.)
