The Old Tiger Stadium Conservancy has until March 1 to raise the $27 million needed to preserve the Navin FIeld grandstand, the only part of the ballpark left standing after a 2008 demolition.

UPDATE: Yes, the $27 million is quite a jump over the original $15 million renovation estimate. We’re told the new figure came after preservationists met with a contractor and received a more realistic estimate of what it will take to restore the ballpark.
