In honor of their milestone 20th anniversary season, the Long Island Ducks (independent; Atlantic League) will wear specialty jerseys during select home games in 2019.
“A milestone season such as this one deserves a memorable uniform,” said Ducks President/GM Michael Pfaff. “We are happy to be able to pay homage to an important part of Ducks history while providing a unique uniform for our team.”
The color of the uniforms, as well as the bill of the caps that will accompany them, is a teal blue shade. Along with the jerseys, this color can be found as part of the diamond outline in the team’s official 20th Anniversary Season logo. Its use pays tribute to the coloring that was featured on much of the original Long Island Ducks merchandise that was debuted in advance of the team’s inaugural season of play in 2000.
These commemorative teal jerseys feature the club’s official 20th Anniversary logo on the front-left chest, highlighting the team’s first season in the Atlantic League (2000) and the current year (2019). The uniform also includes the logo of Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, the presenting sponsor of the Ducks 20th Anniversary Season, on the right sleeve. Orange numbering is included on the front and back of the uniform top, with the Atlantic League’s official logo featured on the top of the jersey’s back. A “JK” patch honoring the late Joe Klein, former Atlantic League Executive Director, is included on the left sleeve.
Accompanying the jerseys are ProFlex baseball caps from OC Sports. The bill of the caps features the same teal coloring that encompasses the jersey tops, while the remainder of the hat is white. The headwear features the Duck Head logo on the front and the traditional Ducks logo on the back, and also features Cage-Mesh material.
