In a significant milestone for the project, the Charleston RiverDogs (Low A; Sally League) have begun work on a new club level for the 2017 season.

A 6,000 square foot addition to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, the club level will not only accommodate spectators on game days, but will be equipped to host events such as weddings on a year-round basis. The area will be situated to offer views of both the playing field, and the Ashley River. It is expected to be completed by March 2017.

“The Joe is a jewel of a ballpark, and it is a credit to both the City of Charleston and our staff that it continues to be one of the premiere destinations for entertainment in the Lowcountry. As we approach two decades of operation, we’ve taken the opportunity to capitalize on our premium location and the needs of the community in constructing a first class event and club space. We will be unique in the City of Charleston with the ability to combine 360 degree breathtaking vistas, upscale Lowcountry elegance, and ample convenient parking to our guests. The RiverDogs are excited to begin construction on what is sure to be a truly game-changing space in the City” said Jeff Goldklang, President of the Goldklang Group

Designed by Charleston-based architectural firm LS3P, the club level will be built by Mashburn Construction on the first base side of The Joe. The space will extend from the edge of the press box to the end of the grandstand bleachers. The club’s interior will feature lounge seating steeped in Lowcountry elegance, a drink rail overlooking the field of play, and 118 padded, stadium-style seats on the exterior. With breathtaking views of the Ashley River wetlands through floor-to-ceiling glass, the club level structure extends over the marsh to accentuate one of the best vistas in all of minor league baseball.

“The Riley Park Club will provide our fans with next level game day experience, providing top of the line food and beverage service along with one-of-a-kind views,” said RiverDogs President and General Manager Dave Echols. “This addition will give our fans an entirely new experience at The Joe while also providing hundreds of opportunities for special events both in and out of season.”
