The Hillsboro Hops (Short Season A; Northwest League) will host the 2017 Northwest League vs. Pioneer League All-Star Game. Played at Ron Tonkin Field on August 1, the game will conclude a two-day long series of events.
The two days of All-Star festivities will include a home run derby, Fan Fest and the All-Star game itself. Sixteen cities and fourteen MLB affiliations will be represented.
Hops Managing Owner Mike McMurray, Hops Vice President and General Manager K.L. Wombacher, Hillsboro Mayor Jerry Willey, Arizona Diamondbacks Director of Player Development Mike Bell, Arizona Diamondbacks Special Assistant to the General Manager Bob Gebhard and Oregon Sports Authority CEO Drew Mahalic were on hand at Ron Tonkin Field to make the All-Star announcement.
“We are proud to be hosting baseball fans from across this region at the 2017 Northwest League vs Pioneer League All-Star Game in Hillsboro,” said Hops Vice President & General Manager K.L. Wombacher. “Our passionate fans, state-of-the-art ballpark Ron Tonkin Field and the City of Hillsboro will make Hillsboro a great location for the two days of festivities.”
A detailed schedule for the two days of All-Star festivities will be revealed this Fall, as will details for how fans can get tickets to the game and the accompanying festivities.
