Following his role in Sunday’s brawl between the Texas Rangers and the Toronto Blue Jays, the Frisco RoughRiders (Class AA; Texas League) are introducing a drink in honor of Rougned Odor.
Rougie’s Red PUNCH is named for Odor, who threw a right hook at Jose Bautista at the beginning of Sunday’s melee. To be served at Dr Pepper Ballpark‘s Bull Moose Saloon, Rougie’s Red PUNCH features an interesting array of ingredients.
It contains fruit punch (in honor of his prodigious right hook), an energy drink (perfect for those looking to embody Odor’s ferocious and frenetic style of play), and a secret ingredient from Odor’s native Venezuela (Rougie’s Red PUNCH will be available to fans 21-and-older only!).
“Odor is a feisty, energetic player, and we have come up the perfect drink to honor him,” said RoughRiders Executive Vice President and General Manager Jason Dambach. “Rougie’s Red PUNCH will punch you in the mouth with great flavor and an intense energy burst.”
Rougie’s Red PUNCH will be served out of a punch bowl, of course, and sold in limited edition souvenir 12 oz. cups, as a tribute to Odor’s number (12). Cups of Rougie’s Red PUNCH will be sold at the price of $5.15, commemorating the date of Odor’s ascension to the pantheon of Texas Rangers’ lore.
Odor played for the RoughRiders in 2013 and 2014. The drink will make its debut on Friday night.
