New for 2016: BB&T Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field

Williamsport Crosscutters logoWe have another BB&T Ballpark in the baseball fold, as the acquisition of Susquehanna Bank means the banking giant has naming rights to the home of the Williamsport Crosscutters (short season A; NY-Penn League).

In late 2013, Susquehanna Bank and the City of Williamsport approved a five-year naming-rights agreement for Bowman Field, the home of the Williamsport Crosscutters, for the 2014-2018 seasons. That name passes along to BB&T after the acquisition of Susquehanna Bank earlier this year.

“The City of Williamsport is pleased to partner with BB&T as the corporate naming rights partner of our historic ballpark,” said Williamsport Mayor Gabriel J. Campana. “It is my hope to continue a strong relationship with them for years to come.”

Speaking about the agreement, Michael Hough, BB&T president of Western Maryland and Pennsylvania remarked, “Minor league baseball is the epitome of affordable, family friendly entertainment. The Crosscutters do a great job on the field and in the community. We share the same goal of making our communities better places to live and work.”

In addition to the new signs that are slated to appear on the stadium in the coming weeks, BB&T will also be providing an LED message board as part of the signage located at the entrance to the stadium on Fourth Street.

Peter Freund, Crosscutters Principal Owner added, “The Crosscutters organization is excited to work with BB&T and the City of Williamsport to help ensure the long-tern viability of this historic stadium for professional baseball.”

BB&T also hold naming rights to ballparks in Charlotte and Winston-Salem.
