The Visalia Rawhide (High Class A; California League) officially released new away uniforms for 2015 and beyond, as the team will wear “Visalia” on their chests for the first time since 2008.
The grey jerseys, which feature a roping “Visalia” script similar to the “Rawhide” wordmark, will be the team’s new standard look on the road. It will be the first time in the Rawhide Era that the team has worn the city’s name on their uniforms.
“When our team is playing in other places throughout the California League, we want them to visibly display the fact that they’re representing our amazing town,” said Rawhide General Manager Jennifer Pendergraft. “We have so much pride in this hidden gem of a city, with its vibrant downtown, its unique culture, and its proximity to beautiful national parks, and now the Rawhide will be showcasing that pride everywhere they go.”
The new wordmark was crafted by graphic artist Dan Simon, who has designed multiple Super Bowl logos and created full identities for dozens of professional sports teams, including the Rawhide.
“Showing the city’s name on our chests demonstrates our continuing commitment to making professional baseball thrive in Visalia,” Rawhide President Tom Seidler said. “As one of the smallest towns in the country to field a professional sports club, our people and our fans embrace this area’s constant underdog status. This new road uniform will only enhance that pride.”
In conjunction with the new uniform’s release, the Rawhide will offer several new “Visalia” merchandise items in their online shop (available by clicking the “Shop” link at RawhideBaseball.com) and in their General Store at the ballpark.
