The University of New Orleans has sold naming rights to Maestri Field at Privateer Park, with the newly renovated ballpark now known as First NBC Ballpark.
The naming-rights deal runs through December 2023.
“We are privileged to establish this partnership with First NBC Bank. We have enjoyed working with Mr. Ashton Ryan and his team on the First NBC Cup [baseball series between UNO and Tulane] partnership for several years and look forward to this extension of our relationship,” said New Orleans Director of Athletics Derek Morel.
“This community partnership is yet another demonstration of First NBC’s commitment to amateur and collegiate athletics in the New Orleans metropolitan area.”
Maestri Field has been undergoing a renovation since January of 2013, and the Privateers have played a full season and a half away from its home field. The Privateers last played an intercollegiate game on campus on April 28, 2012.
“These athletes work tirelessly and we are proud to recognize their contribution to our community. Our entire banking team applauds the efforts these fine young people put forth both in the classroom and on the athletic field,” said First NBC Bank President and CEO Ashton J. Ryan Jr.
