Front-office changes in Bluefield, Bridgeport

Bluefield Blue JaysSome front-office changes to report today: Jeff Gray is the new GM of the Bluefield Blue Jays (rookie; Appalachian League), while Ken Shepard is new GM of the Bridgeport Bluefish (independent; Atlantic League).

Gray has front-office experience with the Dunedin Blue Jays (High Class A; Florida State League) and was associate general manager of the U.S. Military All-Stars’ “Red White and Blue Tour.”

Shepard has been in pro baseball since he was 23 and the youngest GM in MiLB with the Geneva Cubs (short season A; NY-Penn League) when he made national headlines by vowing to sleep in the press box until the team won. Since then he’s served as GM of the Prince William Cannons (High Class A; Carolina League), VP of the Wilmington Blue Rocks (High Class A; Carolina League, co-owner/president/GM of the Atlantic City Surf (independent; Atlantic League) and COO/GM of the Savannah Sand Gnats (Low Class A; Sally League).
