Triple-A Baseball has released a logo to promote the Gildan Triple-A Baseball National Championship Game, to be held this season at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, home of the Durham Bulls.
The game is a winner-take-all matchup between the winners of the International League and the Pacific Coast League to determine the champion of Triple-A Baseball. Heading into the 2012 game, both leagues are tied, having achieved three wins each during the six previous National Championship Games. This year’s game will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network Tuesday, September 18 at 7 p.m. ET.
The new logo was designed by Chris Henwood, creator of many of the Durham Bulls’ special event and anniversary logos.
“Gildan is honored to be an official part of this great American tradition and excited to be the title sponsor of Triple-A Baseball’s premier event, the Gildan Triple-A Baseball National Championship Game,” said Rob Packard, Vice-President, Marketing and Merchandising, Gildan Branded Apparel. “Since the early 1990s, we have been part of the fun family events in our customers’ lives – supporting activities which create great times and special memories, attributes shared by Triple-A Baseball. Gildan is looking forward to enhancing this truly fun, family experience throughout the season in each of the league’s ballparks, as well as during the Gildan Triple-A Baseball National Championship Game.”
“The Gildan brand stands for top quality as do the two league champions who will battle for six months, play over 150 games and outlast 28 opponents to qualify for Triple-A Baseball’s final game,” said Randy Mobley, CEO, Triple-A Baseball. “It will be the best of the best on all fronts. Gildan is a valued partner, which through various regular and post-season activities will continue to raise the profile of the Gildan Triple-A Baseball National Championship Game.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Gildan on Triple-A Baseball’s premier event,” said Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling. “Their commitment demonstrates what a major showcase this is for Minor League Baseball, North Carolina’s Triangle region, and the Bulls organization.”
