A Request for Qualifications for the operator of an multiuse ballpark/venue in downtown Amarillo has been released by Wallace Bajjali Development Partners, developer of the facility.
You can download the RFQ here.
The RFQ is pretty straightforward, asking for potential owners of a professional baseball franchise their qualifications for running the facility, including their background and financial wherewithal. Though it’s not explicitly mentioned in the RFQ, the underlying financial assumptions for a new ballpark, as prepared by CSL, assume an independent team as the tenant of the ballpark.
The Amarillo Sox (independent; American Association) are slated to play in Potter County Stadium until a new ballpark is completed.
