New for 2011: RedHawks Ballpark

Oklahoma City RedHawksWith former corporate sponsor AT&T reevaluating its sports-marketing strategies, the home of the Oklahoma RedHawks (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) will be known as RedHawks Ballpark — at least for now.

The ballpark had gone by the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark name for several years. This will be the fifth name for the ballpark: it originally was called Bricktown Ballpark when under construction, but the team sold naming rights to Southwestern Bell — leading to Southwestern Bell Ballpark when the facility actually opened. In 2002 the name was changed to SBC Bricktown Ballpark, and the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark name came online in 2006.

New Redhawks owners Mandalay Baseball Properties is shopping the naming rights, and a new deal could be in place for the 2011 season.
