The Trenton Thunder (Class AA; Eastern League) are poised to reach a major milestone in team history: the 7-millionth fan in team history should cross the turnstiles next weekend. The club stands 6,487 fans shy of seven million with four home games remaining.
Since the organization’s inception 16 years ago, and with its August 25th game in the books, the cumulative franchise attendance sits at 6,993,513.
The Thunder’s seven millionth fan will receive a prize package that includes: four tickets to see Mary Poppins on Broadway contributed by WPST, four passes to Six Flags Great Adventure from Snyder’s of Hanover, a $100 gift card to Wawa, a $150 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods, a grill and cooler set from Coca-Cola, an Adirondack chair from Budweiser, gift certificates to Peddler’s Village and Rat’s Restaurant at Grounds For Sculpturre and four Trenton Thunder playoff ticket strips (all 6 potential games) as well a Thunder replica jersey. The total value of the prize package is approximately $1,500.
The Trenton organization has had 365,114 patrons visit Waterfront Park this year. The per game attendance average this season is 5,449.
“Seven million in attendance is a huge number that really speaks to the success of this franchise since day one,” said Thunder General Manager Will Smith. “We can’t thank the fans enough for continuing to come out to the ballpark to enjoy Thunder baseball. We also thank all of our great partners who contributed to the wonderful prize package for our seven millionth fan.”
