Sens expect big crowd for ballpark opening, Strasburg appearance

The folks with the Harrisburg Senators must be living right these days: besides having a renovated ballpark as a draw for the home opener next week, Nats phenom Stephen Strasburg is expected to take the mound.

The folks with the Harrisburg Senators (Class AA; Eastern League) must be living right these days: besides having a renovated ballpark as a draw for the home opener next week, Nats phenom Stephen Strasburg is expected to take the mound.

Metro Bank Park has undergone renovations the last two seasons. The Friday opening will be the first chance for fans to view all the changes.

The Friday game is almost sold out, with only a limited supply of standing room only tickets available. The Senators have also placed individual corporate suite seats on sale for $25 per seat. Tables are available for $50 per table. Each exclusive picnic table comes with six tickets.

"It's exciting,” said Senators President Kevin Kulp. “Fans have really responded to the new ballpark and the fact that Stephen Strasburg is scheduled to pitch next Friday.  We want as many people to be able to see it as possible, but I strongly encourage fans to purchase their tickets as soon as possible."
