The home of the Brooklyn Cyclones has a new moniker.
Keyspan Park is no more, as the Brooklyn Cyclones (short season; NY-Penn League) announced a new naming-rights deal for the Coney Island ballpark with Municipal Credit Union (MCU).
In addition to the naming-rights deal for MCU Park, MCU and the Cyclones entered into a comprehensive 11-year marketing partnership that launches the Cyclones’ 10th season in Brooklyn.
MCU will receive a strong brand presence through their partnership, including extensive signage throughout the ballpark’s interior and exterior, promotional nights with branded collectible giveaway items, and MCU information tables on the ballpark’s concourse level. The partnership will also allow MCU to give back even more to its members and the New York City community through ticket donations, a “community seating section,” use of the ballpark for private members-only events, and more.
“When the Cyclones take the field for our 10th season this summer, we will do so at MCU Park,” said Cyclones General Manager Steve Cohen. “MCU has proudly served the community and its members for nearly a century, and now the Cyclones welcome MCU into its Brooklyn baseball family.”
“What the Cyclones have done so successfully for the past 10 years is bring baseball back to Brooklyn and made the borough proud. We are very excited about this partnership because it is such a natural fit for MCU,” said Kam Wong, President & CEO, Municipal Credit Union.
Municipal Credit Union is one of the oldest and largest credit unions in the country and the oldest credit union in New York State. Chartered in 1916, MCU offers its full range of low cost financial services to New York City civil servants, teachers, health care professionals and others, including certain family members and qualifying retirees.
MCU Park will host 38 Brooklyn Cyclones regular-season home games each year, as well as high school, college, youth league, and men’s league games, charity events, concerts, and more. The 11-year agreement will take the Cyclones/MCU naming rights partnership through the conclusion of the 2020 season.
