P-Nats eye new Loudoun County ballpark

A developer has applied for permissions for a new Potomac Nationals ballpark in Loudoun County, Virginia.

Loudoun County, Virginia is suddenly the hot baseball area, with one new ballpark under development and a second potential ballpark in the works.

Comstock Partners is proposing a new ballpark for the Potomac Nationals (High Class A; Carolina League) as part of a new 3-million-square-foot retail/office/residential project. The appeal: the new development will be the terminus of a new Metrorail line in Dulles County.

The team plays at Pfitzner Stadium, but owner Art Silber has been working for years on a new-ballpark project that's gone nowhere in Prince William County.

Nothing is imminent: the application is in its early stages, and the plans for the development don't as of yet include a specific ballpark site.
