West Coast League sets new attendance mark

The summer-collegiate West Coast League experienced another boost in attendance, setting a circuit record for 2009.
The summer-collegiate West Coast League experienced another boost in attendance, setting a circuit record for 2009, as league total attendance increased by 17 percent.

League attendance eclipsed 150,000 for the first time, with each WCL team, with the exception of Spokane, increasing their total attendance for league games. Corvallis had the largest increase, up 78% in total league attendance over 2008.

Wenatchee led the WCL in league total attendance and league average. Corvallis drew the biggest (single game) crowd of the season, while Bend recorded the highest overall attendance by drawing 44,465 at Vince Genna Stadium in 2009.
