The Smokies set a homestand attendance record for the five-game series ending Saturday night.The Tennessee Smokies (Class AA; Southern League) broke the team record for attendance at a five-game homestand at Smokies Park, as the 5,274 fans in attendance Saturday night were the final piece of the record. The team’s series finale with the Mississippi Braves capped a five-game attendance of 25,234 fans that shattered the previous five-game record by almost 3,000 fans.
Unfortunately for the Smokies, Kyle Cofield was also in the house. The M-Braves’ hurler dominated Tennessee in his eight-inning start to lead the M-Braves to a 4-1 win over the Smokies. With the loss the Smokies fall to 45-55 on the year, 13-17 in the second half.
