The Great Lakes Loons (Low Class A; Midwest League) are celebrating the opening of the new fulltime studios for ESPN 100.9 at Dow Diamond on Jan. 28.
The new studios are located at the Dow Diamond press box. As you’d expect, the station is the official home of Loons broadcasts.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. on the third floor of Dow Diamond and is open to the public. Complementary soft drinks and snacks will be provided, and a cash bar will be available.
To the best of our knowledge this is the only instance of a baseball team running a fulltime radio station out of its ballpark. We’re sure you’ll let us know know if we’re wrong.
