The book by Arthur Suehiro covers the history of Honolulu Stadium:

During its historic half-century from 1926 to 1976, the landmark Honolulu Stadium on King and Isenberg Streets was the entertainment center of the community, hosting high school football, Hawaii Islanders baseball, the Hula Bowl, stock car racing, boxing matches, ethnic baseball leagues, sports heroes from Babe Ruth to Joe Louis, and big name entertainers from Irving Berlin to Elvis Presley.

We read the hardcover edition and loved it; we’re happy to see the paperback reissue. You can find more information about the book at the Watermark Publishing website.
