Nebraska State League / Western League history
Class D | 1910-1915, 1922-1923, 1928-1941, 1956-1959 |
There have been several Western Leagues throughout baseball history, including the Western League that eventually became the American League and the more famous Western League that operated between 1902 and 1958 (with an eight-year break from 1938-1946) as a Class A league in the west and southwest. The Nebraska State League operated from 1910-1915, 1922-1923, and 1928-1938, changing its name to the Western League in 1939 and operating for three seasons under that name.
