The Fresno Grizzlies (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) today announced several promotions with regards to the organization’s executive management.The Fresno Grizzlies (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) today announced several promotions with regards to the organization’s executive management. Executive Vice President Andrew Stuebner has assumed the role of team General Manager as the Grizzlies top executive. Scott Carter and Garrett Fahrmann have been promoted to Senior Vice Presidents of Marketing and Operations, respectively. Shaun Northup has been elevated to Vice President of Tickets, while Josh Phanco is the club’s new Vice President of Corporate Sales.
Stuebner, who has held the title of Executive Vice President for the last two seasons, is now the organization’s top executive and has added the title of General Manager. A graduate of Kenyon College, he is preparing for his sixth season with the Grizzlies, a tenure that began as Vice President of Tickets in 2004.
For the last two years, the organizational leadership responsibilities have been shared between Stuebner and co-Executive Vice President Mike Maiorana. Maiorana, the team’s longest tenured employee with ten seasons of service to the Grizzlies, is leaving for a new position with Jeffrey Scott Advertising.
Having served the previous two seasons as the Grizzlies Vice President of Marketing, Scott Carter is now the Senior Vice President of Marketing. A Downey, CA native and product of UC-Santa Barbara, Carter came to Fresno in 2006 after positions with the Anaheim Ducks and Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Under his leadership, the Grizzlies were recently honored for the "Best Marketing Campaign" of 2008 by Ballpark Digest.
The 2009 season will be the sixth campaign in Fresno for new Senior Vice President of Operations Garrett Fahrmann. Previously the club’s Vice President of Operations, Fahrmann oversees baseball operations, gameday operations, and facilities management for Chukchansi Park, one of the most used and versatile sporting venues in California’s Central Valley. Fahrmann played and coached collegiate baseball before beginning his career with the Class A-Advanced Potomac Cannons.
Shaun Northup will take over as the Grizzlies Vice President of Tickets, and executive authority over all aspects of season and group ticket sales, as well as customer service related to all Grizzlies ticket holders. An Iowa native, Northup handled all group sales responsibilities for the Grizzlies since coming to the team from the Class A-Advanced High Desert Mavericks. 2009 will be his fourth season with Fresno and his sixth season in baseball overall.
Josh Phanco, previously the Grizzlies Director of Business Development, is the team’s new Vice President of Corporate Sales. With six years of experience in the organization, Phanco has held positions in the accounting and marketing departments as well as his most recent experience handling all premium seating options at Chukchansi Park. A Valley native and Fresno State graduate, Phanco will oversee all corporate sponsorship sales and service in his new role.
Under the leadership of Stuebner and Maiorana the Fresno Grizzlies have increased attendance at Chukchansi Park each of the last three seasons and the franchise has placed itself on the leading edge of creativity in Minor League Baseball. Since the conclusion of the 2008 campaign the organization has been honored with several awards in recognition of an outstanding season in the Central Valley.
