In memoriam: Delmont Miller

The Kinston Indians (High Class A; Carolina League) mourn the passing of Delmont Miller, who was more than just a scoreboard operator for the team.
In the greater scheme of things Delmont Miller wasn’t a major player in the baseball world. Heck, he wasn’t even a minor player. But he was the sort of person who make ballparks special places. As the scoreboard operator for the Kinston Indians (High Class A; Carolina League), Miller was a constant presence at Grainger Stadium. He was known throughout the Carolina League for his nightly shout-outs to friends and fans during Indians games. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of a great friend and a big part of the Kinston Indians," said K-Tribe General Manager Shari Massengill. "From players to fans throughout the Carolina League, Delmont was synonymous with K-Tribe baseball." Miller passed away Friday night after a massive coronary. More from ENC Today.
